Networking communities is truly one of my favorite things about education. It is empowering when I learn from other educators as well as when I get to share my own knowledge. I have been a part of networking communities since before I became an educator to see different ideas and gain advice from seasoned educators. These communities are viewed through websites and social media including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Sharing ideas and learning from others is such a fun and rewarding part of my job!
Here are just a few of the network communities I am a member of:
Tech Helpdesk
Emerging Tech Trends
Google Users Group
Region 5 Instructional Technology Specialists Group
Being a member of a learning community in ADL has added to the great networking communities I’m a part of. With this team, I am able to gain insight into the assignments as well as receive feedforward and encouragement. Being able to work with these educators I now call friends has been a wonderful experience. Our chats through posts, messages, phone calls, and Zoom meetings have allowed me to get to know each of them and gain completely new perspectives. I’m thankful for this group, and I am excited to work with them throughout the rest of the ADL program.
